Zoological field photographs, 1911-1913.

Field and museum studio photographs of sea elephants, dolphin skeletons, starfish, and sea urchins seen or collected on the expedition. These views are from among numerous ornithological, mammalogical, and invertebrate zoological specimens the crew collected. Photographs were taken by Charles Townsend. Copy photographs by Julius Kirchner. Photographs of skeletons from Kerguelen Island, which may have been included for comparison, are not from this expedition. Photographs are identified.
